Frisman Jackson
Frisman Jackson
Frisman Jackson joined the Temple staff in 2015 as wide receivers coach. In 2016, he added the role of Passing Game Coordinator. A former quarterback and National Football League wide receiver, he has over 20 years of football experience.

In his first season, Jackson created a deep receving unit that welcomed back redshirt senior Robby Anderson, the team’s leading wideout from two seasons ago, and oversaw the emergence of young talent. Redshirt freshman Ventell Bryant broke out onto the scene this season, shattering every freshman receiving record.

Jackson arrived in Philadelphia after two seasons as the wide receivers coach at North Carolina State. In 2014 the Wolfpack had five different receivers with at least 20 receptions and one touchdown. In 2013, Jackson's unit produced six receivers with 20-or-more catches.

In 2012 at Northern Illinois, Jackson coached wide receiver Martel Moore, who earned first-team All-MAC honors as the Huskies won the conference championship and played Florida State in the Orange Bowl. Moore ranked 23rd nationally with his 1,083 receiving yards and fifth in the nation with 13 touchdown receptions. Receivers Tommylee Lewis and Perez Ashford also had their best seasons as Huskie players in 2012.

During Jackson’s time at Western Illinois, wide receiver Lito Senatus finished in the top 30 in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) in receptions and in the top 40 in receiving yards.

Before embarking on a coaching career, Jackson played six seasons in the National Football League as a wide receiver. He was an undrafted free agent for Cleveland in 2002 and went on to play for the Browns for five seasons. During that time, he had 40 receptions for 490 yards and one touchdown. In 2007, he was signed as a free agent by the New York Jets.

Jackson began his collegiate career playing quarterback at Northern Illinois, then transferred to Western Illinois where he played quarterback and wide receiver for the Leathernecks in 2000 and 2001. At Northern Illinois, he completed 109-of-259 passes for 1,327 yards in 10 starts over three seasons. At WIU, he set the school record for catches (14) and receiving yards (286) in a game versus Indiana State in 2001. He ranks fourth on the WIU single-season list with 1,041 receiving yards and is 10th in single season with 55 catches.

The Chicago native earned a B.A. in law enforcement and justice administration from Western Illinois in 2004, and a M.S. degree in RPTA from Western Illinois in 2010.

Jackson was a four sport star at Morgan Park High where he played football, basketball, baseball and ran track.

Jackson and his wife Lindsey have a daughter, Anya (4), and son, Forrest (1).
