Keith Bruno joined the Temple Football staff as a special teams analyst in April 2023.
Â
Prior to coming to North Philadelphia, Bruno spent three seasons as a special teams assistant with Rutgers football, two under Temple’s special teams coordinator, Adam Scheier.Â
Â
In 2019, Bruno returned to his alma mater, Albright, as special teams coordinator and safeties coach for his second stint of coaching after spending 2017-18 as the defensive coordinator at St. Lawrence. In 2019, as special teams coordinator, Bruno's Lions blocked four kicks.
Â
As a defensive coordinator at St. Lawrence in 2018, the Saints led the Liberty League in sacks and tackles-for-loss. Bruno also developed first team all-league linebacker Liam Murray, and all-league/all-region defensive lineman Tyler Mirabile, along with honorable mention defensive back Tyler Burns.
Â
Bruno was part of a coaching staff that helped lead Albright to a Middle Atlantic Conference-Centennial Bowl Championship title in 2016, as the Lions posted an 8-3 overall record. As the special teams coordinator, Bruno coached three all-conference players, including two first-team selections. He mentored units that led the conference in numerous categories such as field goals, touchdowns, converted fakes and total kickoff coverage. In 2015, Bruno helped lead Albright to a MAC title with a 10-2 mark, coaching a secondary that ranked seventh in the nation in interceptions.
Â
Bruno played on the Albright football team from 2008-12. The free safety posted 43 tackles as a junior and 39 as a senior. Bruno was a member of the 2009 Lions team that posted a school-record 11 wins and advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III playoffs.
Â
Following his playing career, Bruno moved into the high school coaching ranks at his alma mater Brick Township Memorial in New Jersey, where he coached the linebackers during the 2012 season. Bruno then moved on to McDaniel High where he served as an assistant coach working with the defensive backs in 2013 and 2014. Bruno earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology from Albright in 2012 after graduating from Brick Memorial High School in 2008.
