Pat Boyle was hired as strategic specialist in May 2017. The former Temple football all-conference and all-academic honoree began his fourth season working with the Owls, his first full-time, after a brief career in the National Football League.
 
Boyle plays a vital role in enhancing the analytics department for the football program. His position includes assisting with the day-to-day operations around the football facilities as well having an important role for gameday operations including data analysis. Boyle also plays a key part in enhancing the recruiting department throughout the season.
 
The Towson, Md., native had been serving as an operations and strength and conditioning graduate assistant the previous two years, and earned his master’s degree from Temple in sports business in 2017. He began working for the football program volunteering in the weight room during the 2014 season.
 
Boyle had a brief career in the NFL playing for the Detroit Lions and Washington Redskins from 2012-13.

At Temple, where he played alongside his twin brother Sean, Boyle was an All-MAC selection as a four-time letterwinner and two-year starter on the offensive line. He was invited to play in the 2012 AstroTurf NFLPA Collegiate Bowl. Academically, he earned 2012 PNC Male Student-Athlete of the Year, the 2012 Owl Club Academic Award, and was cited on the 2012, 2011, and 2010 Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

Boyle played at Calvert Hall College HS where he was team captain. He was named to the Maryland Varsity Dream Team and selected as an All-Star by the Baltimore Touchdown Club. He earned All-MIAA Conference accolades in the shot put where he helped the team to a conference indoor championship in 2008.
