High School: A four-year letterwinner as a running back and linebacker at Dr. Henry A. Wise High in Upper Marlboro, Md., for head coaches DeLawn Parrish and Steve Rapp (as a senior) … was a two-time (2023-24) Maryland Class 4A Player of the Year … earned first team all-county and all-met as a senior when he rushed fr 1,553 yards and 23 touchdowns and added two more scores on kickoff returns … as a junior, averaged 11.1 yards per carry, rushing 126 times for 1,395 yards while totaling 25 touchdowns and returning two kickoffs for a score … with 223 yards on kickoff returns and 28 yards receiving, Young totaled 1,646 all-purpose yards … on defense he earned first team All-Maryland recognition at linebacker, logging 91 tackles, including 15.5 tackles for loss and two sacks … as a sophomore, he finished the year with 63 carries for 732 yards (11.6 yards per carry) and 10 touchdowns … also caught six passes for 70 yards and a touchdown and threw a 62-yard TD pass … defensively he recorded 80 tackles, including 13 tackles for loss and three sacks.
