Flo Liu enters his second season as an assistant coach on 16-year head coach David MacWilliams’ staff. Liu comes to Temple after having an accomplished career at UConn and UAB.
As a sophomore at UAB, he led the team with six assists as the starting left back. During two years at UConn, he was part of a defense that set a school record with 16 shutouts in 2011 and 12 in 2012. UConn went to two NCAA quarterfinals and were ranked No. 1 during both seasons. In 2012, Liu played every minute in Big East play on route to a conference regular season championship. He contributed two goals and two assists that year that included the winning assist against No. 3 Georgetown and winning goal against No. 8 Notre Dame.
Liu played club soccer with Surrey United and was part of Vancouver Whitecaps youth system.
Liu has experience with Connecticut Olympic Development Program and currently coaches at Montgomery United Soccer Club.
