Fernandes returns to Temple after spending three seasons in the professional ranks as a player. The forward spent the 2020 season with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL Championship. Fernandes scored two goals in 12 appearances for the Riverhounds. After his time in Pittsburgh, Fernandes returned to his hometown of Rochester, N.Y. where he signed with the Rochester Lancers in 2021 and with Flower City Union in 2022. While with Flower City, Fernandes was a star, scoring four goals in 16 appearances, including the first goal in Flower City franchise history.
Prior to his professional career, Fernandes shined as a member of the Cherry and White. He appeared in 55 games and made 34 starts during his four-year career (2016-19). During his time with the Owls, Fernandes scored 10 goals and passed for nine assists. He was tremendous in both the 2018 and 2019 seasons, being named AAC Offensive Player of the Week twice and to the Weekly Honor Roll once in 2018. After the season, Fernandes was named Second Team All-American Athletic Conference. In 2019 Fernandes led Temple to an AAC Tournament berth and earned an AAC Weekly Honor Roll nod. He was again awarded Second Team All-AAC honors and was also named a Philly Soccer Six All-Star.
Fernandes graduated from Temple in 2019 with a degree in Kinesiology.
