2016: Team captain… Appeared and started in all 18 games in 2016… One of seven seniors who have collectively contributed to 32 wins and 3 10-win seasons over the past four years… Concluded his career playing in every game of the past four years… Logged one goal in a game against Delaware (10/18) and two assists in games against Manhattan College (8/26) and SMU (10/8)… Helped lead a backline that allowed only three goals at home in an unbeaten home slate… Two-time American Athletic Conference Honor Roll nods (10/10, 10/24)… Helped the Owls to their fourth consecutive NSCAA Team Academic Award… Signed a professional contract with Bethlehem Steel FC in March of 2017.
2015: 2015 team captain… One of three Owls to start in all 19 games of 2015 for a total of 1,701 minutes… Key defender in a back line that allowed only eight goals at home… Logged one goal and two assists… Goal scored in the Owls’ 3-2 loss to Cincinnati on Sept. 26… Named Philadelphia Soccer Six Defender of the Week for the week of Oct. 12… Earned spots on the American Athletic Conference weekly honor roll twice (09/28, 10, 12)… Helped the program to its third consecutive NSCAA Team Academic Award... HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Roy C Ketcham in Wappingers Fall, NY. Was selected to the US Soccer Development Academy U17/18 Conference Starting XI Team, 2012-13. He was the New York Cosmos/BW Gottschee Academy player 2011-2013, Captain. He was also the New York Red Bulls Academy player, 2008-2011. Mahoney was ranked the No. 3 defender in the New York Region by Top Drawer Soccer. Region 1 ODP team, 2008-2009. U14 National ID camp, 2008. Also lettered in Track and Field, holding the freshman record in the 400 and 800m events.
PERSONAL: Parents Michele and Mark Mahoney. Majoring in Kinesiology. Was part of the Italian National Honor Society.
