Dr. Shemeica Binns

Dr. Shemeica N. Binns is the Head Team Physician for Temple Athletics. She brings years of experience in sports and family medicine, having previously served as the head team physician at both Drexel University and Chestnut Hill College.
A former track and field student-athlete and conference champion at Bowdoin College, Dr. Binns brings a unique perspective to athlete care. She holds a Bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in chemistry, a Master's degree in biomedical science from Tufts University, and a Medical degree from New York Medical College.
She completed her residency in family medicine at the University of Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital, with rotations in pediatrics, orthopedics, urgent care, and sports medicine. She later completed a sports medicine fellowship at Rutgers UNiversity, where she cared for athletes at Rutgers, Princeton, and middlesex College, and served as a eam physician for Rutgers Football.
In addition to her clinical roles, Dr. Binns has served as an assistant professor at both Drexel and Temple. She is an active member of the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Medical Women's Association. Passionate about holistic athlete care, she focuses on injury prevention, wellness, and performance.
