  • Title:
    Assistant Track and Field Coach

Kevin Kelly enters his second season with the Temple Track and Field program.

In his first year on Broad Street, Kelly primarily worked with the jump and multi-event athletes as he helped Tannekee Strachan break two school records in the triple jump. Under Kelly's guidance, Strachan took home the bronze medal in the triple jump at the AAC Outdoor Championships.

Before Temple, Kelly worked as an assistant coach at Penn State for nine years where he coached the Nittany Lions’ men’s jump and multi-events, as well as men’s and women’s pole vault. Kelly helped coach 17 All-Big Ten selections and six first-team All-America finishes. Kelly mentored multiple student-athletes at Penn State, helping them achieve various school records and postseason success.

Before his time at Penn State, Kelly served as the Associate Head Track and Field Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Rutgers University for eleven years. In New Brunswick, Kelly recruited prospective student-athletes in all areas of track and field and designed and implemented training programs for all field events. Kelly helped coach student-athletes to eight school records and a 2005 Big East Championship Outdoor Title.

Prior to coaching at Rutgers, Kelly enjoyed stints at Lehigh University as well as the Big East Conference Championship Seeding Committee as a Committee Member. Before his career started, Kelly graduated from Kutztown University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
