Lee Roberts, who first joined the Temple Athletics staff in 1984, was promoted to Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director for Facilities and Event Management in August 2022. It was his third promotion in a seven-year span as he was previously promoted Senior Associate Athletics Director in 2018 and Associate Athletics Director in September 2015.

Roberts oversees the maintenance and upkeep of the University’s athletic facilities, both on the main and Ambler campuses, as well as serving as the department’s liaison with The Liacouras Center and Lincoln Financial Field.

The veteran administrator manages the game operations of all athletic events. He has helped to facilitate numerous conference and national competitions that Temple has hosted during that time, including the 2004 NCAA Women’s Basketball first and second rounds, the 2005 NCAA Women’s Basketball Philadelphia Regional, the 2011 NCAA Women’s Basketball Philadelphia Regional, and the 2013 NCAA Men’s Basketball Second and Third Rounds at the Wells Fargo Center.

Roberts, a 1982 graduate of Temple, joined the Owl staff in 1984 as director of football operations, a position he held for 12 years before moving into his current position. His role as director of football operations, which entailed overseeing the Division I-A program’s day-to-day operations, helped to groom him for his current post.

In recognition of his decades of impact on Temple Athletics, Roberts was inducted into the Temple Athletics Hall of Fame in the spring of 2025.
