Rich Kessler starts his first season as an assistant coach at Temple in 2025.
Kessler spent the previous two seasons as an assistant coach at La Salle, where he oversaw home game operations, team travel, and goalkeeper development.
Before joining La Salle, Kessler spent two seasons as an assistant at his alma mater, Alvernia University, helping the Wolves to a pair of ECAC Tournament berths. During his time there, Alvernia won 25 matches and advanced to the semifinals of the 2022 ECAC Postseason Tournament.
A former goalkeeper for Alvernia from 2005–08, Kessler has also served as the Director of Goalkeeping at FC Delco and held assistant coaching roles at Penn State Berks and Penn State Abington. He was the head coach at Cumberland County College in 2018 and at Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School from 2019–23.
