Roy Roundtree became the Temple wide receivers coach in 2025 as part of K.C. Keeler’s initial Owls’ staff.

In 2024, he spent a season with Miami (Ohio) as receivers coach. His three top receivers – Javon Tracy (57-818-7, first team All-MAC), Reggie Virgil (41-816-9, second team All-MAC), and Cade McDonald (52-631-3) - averaged 50.0 catches for 755.0 yards and 6.3 touchdowns.

Before that, Roundtree spent one year at McNeese State in a similar capacity. MSU’s Jon McCall earned second team All-Southland Conference with 32 receptions for 504 yards and five touchdowns as a redshirt sophomore receiver.

Prior to McNeese, Roundtree spent two seasons at Grand Valley State where his wide receiving corps combined to haul in 288 passes for 4,223 yards and 34 touchdowns. The Lakers compiled a 22-3 record in his two seasons on staff and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division II playoffs both years.

In 2022, he helped lead the Lakers to a perfect 11-0 regular season record and No. 1 national ranking as the offense averaged 461 yards per game to rank 11th nationally. GVSU also ranked No. 9 in the NCAA in first downs and scored 52 times in 60 attempts in the red zone with 47 scores going for touchdowns.

Roundtree spent three years (2018-20) at Michigan where he assisted with all facets of the wide receiver position including game plan installments, individual drill work, passing game coordination, opponent film breakdown, defensive scout team organization and was responsible for special team duties for the punt and kick returns. He tutored the likes of Donovan People-Jones, Nico Collins and Ronnie Bell to All-Big Ten Conference honors during the 2019 campaign.

In 2017, he coached receivers at Indiana State; was wide receiver coach, along with recruiting coordinator and director of high school relations, at Limestone in 2016; and in 2015, coached at Colorado State-Pueblo.

Roundtree turned in an outstanding playing career at Michigan, hauling in 154 passes for 2,304 yards – fourth best mark in school history - and 15 touchdowns in 50 career games played. He started 37 consecutive games during his career, tallied career-highs in receptions (72), yards (935) and touchdown catches (7) as a sophomore in 2010. He also set the Michigan single-game record for receiving yards in a game (246) versus Illinois on nine receptions during the 2010 season.

He was a CollegeFootballNews.com and Sporting News Freshman All-American, while also being selected a two-time All-Big Ten performer during his time with the Wolverines.

A native of Trotwood, Ohio, Roundtree is a graduate of the University of Michigan. He married his wife, Alexis, in the summer of 2024.
