Ryan Long began his role as strategic communications director on Feb. 10, 2025. He heads to North Broad after serving as the coordinator of athletic communications at East Stroudsburg University for four years.
While at ESU, Long oversaw all communication, media relations, social media, graphic design, marketing and video streaming for 22 Warrior sports teams. Under his direction, ESU’s social media accounts and esuwarriors.com grew to among the most followed and engaged platforms in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference and NCAA Division II.
Before leading the athletic communications office at ESU, Long was an assistant director of media relations at Duquesne University (2019–21) and an assistant director of athletic communications at the University of Maine (2017–19). He began his post-graduate career as a media relations intern at Villanova (2016–17).
At Duquesne, Long was the primary contact for the women’s basketball, women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, and men’s and women’s tennis teams. He also oversaw all media-related efforts for the 2019 NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championships, held at PPG Paints Arena.
Long’s experience at Maine included serving as the secondary contact for the school’s Football Championship Subdivision semifinal team in 2018. He was the primary contact for men’s basketball, baseball and field hockey, and he received a Fred Stabley Sr. award from CoSIDA for best athlete profile in District 1, which includes New England and five Canadian provinces.
A native of the Poconos, Long earned his bachelor’s degree in sport media from Ithaca College in 2016. He resides in Lansdale with his wife, Brenna, and their dog, Nola.
