Valerie McQuade began her role as Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Fan Engagement on October 24, 2025. In this role, she oversees marketing strategy and fan engagement initiatives, with a focus on enhancing the game day experience and driving attendance across Temple’s athletic programs.
McQuade joined the Owls from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), where she spent six years in progressively advancing roles within marketing and broadcasting, ultimately serving as Associate Commissioner of Marketing & Broadcasting. In that role, she was a member of the senior staff overseeing marketing, broadcasting, and digital operations for the conference. Her responsibilities included leading marketing strategy and game presentation initiatives across MAAC championships and regular season events, managing sponsorship fulfillment, and collaborating with partners such as ESPN and Van Wagner to execute integrated marketing and promotional campaigns. She also directed in-venue fan experience elements, including videoboard content, branding, and overall game presentation execution to elevate the live event atmosphere. In addition, she oversaw broadcast initiatives across ESPN platforms and conference networks, while managing website administration, digital content strategy, and championship presentation.
Prior to joining the MAAC, McQuade played professional basketball in Germany for the Chemnitz ChemCats. She is a former student-athlete and graduate assistant for the Niagara University women’s basketball program, where she supported practice and game preparation, statistics, and day-to-day program operations while earning her MBA.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, McQuade earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and a Master’s in Business Administration with a focus in Strategic Management from Niagara University.
