Starred in basketball from 1926-29 under Jimmy Usilton, Sr. One of only three men to be named captain in both junior and senior years. Assistant coach in 1938 when Temple won the first National Invitational Tournament; head coach when Owls captured 1969 NIT championship. Winningest coach in Temple athletic history. Has produced four All-Americans and several professional players. Named Coach of the Year three times. Has been associated with every tournament team Temple has ever produced. Coached and played pro basketball. Elected to Naismith, Big Five amd Temple Hall of Fame.
