Brian Clarhaut begins his fourth year with the Temple men’s soccer team as David MacWilliams’ top assistant in 2014.
In 2013, Clarhaut helped steer the Owls into their first inaugural season in the American Athletic Conference. The Owl’s finished in 4th place overall with a total record of 10-4-4 and conference record of 3-1-4. Clarhaut was instrumental in bringing back-to-back top 20 recruiting classes in 2013 and 2014.
In his first season at Temple, he helped mentor the squad to nine shutouts, a 10-6-2 overall mark and to an Atlantic 10 Tournament appearance.
Prior to arriving to assist the Owls, Clarhaut spent the 2011 season as the Director of Soccer Quality Control at the University of Connecticut, where he helped lead the Huskies to the BIG EAST Championship Game and to the NCAA Quarterfinals with a 19-3-3 record in 2011.
Before UConn and Temple, Clarhaut spent the 2009 and 2010 campaigns alongside associate head coach Tim O'Donohue at Stevens Institute of Technology. During his two seasons at Stevens, Clarhaut helped lead four players to NSCAA First Team All-America honors.
Overall Clarhaut has coached a total of 10 players drafted into Major League Soccer, 11 All-Americans and 7 Conference Players of the Year.
A former Division I player at St. Peter's College from 2004-06, he was a member of the All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Academic team. Clarhaut was a member of the 23-0-1 Shawnee High School squad that won the 2003 New Jersey state title and finished as the second-ranked team in the nation according to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). As a member of Bishop Eustace Prep from 2000-2002, he set the single season assists record in 2002 with 27, was an all-conference performer (2002) and an All-New Jersey Top-11 Player (2002).
Clarhaut holds a USSF B License and will assists with all aspects of the program.
