Jack Bonner

Captain of the 1930 football team, Jack Bonner was one of the finest all-around athletes in Temple history. He earned 11 letters, four each in football and baseball and three in basketball. He sparked the 1930 team to a 7-3 record, playing both offensive and defensive end, and playing the full 60 minutes in the game against Villanova. Temple had a winning record every year he played. He was an excellent pass receiver. He competed in baseball as a first baseman in the 1928, 1929, 1930 and 1931 seasons. He batted .350 in 1930. He was the chief adult probation officer for Delaware County before passing away. He is survived by his wife, one son, three sisters and a brother Cornelius who also starred for Temple.
