Weekend Guide: No. 19 Monmouth, Rider

PHILADELPHIA – Following a four-game road swing to begin the season, the Temple University field hockey team returns to Howarth Field for its home-opening weekend against No. 19 Monmouth and Rider.
Temple (2-2) hosts No. 19 Monmouth (2-1) on Friday at 4 p.m. before welcoming Rider (0-4) on Sunday at 11 a.m.
Friday's contest will serve as the Owls' home opener and feature a hot dog giveaway, while Sunday's matchup will be Temple's Pride Game. Both contests will air on ESPN+.

Hot Dog Giveaway, Pride Game Highlight Home Weekend
𝗛𝗢𝗠𝗘 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗥 🤝 𝗛𝗢𝗧 𝗗𝗢𝗚𝗦. Temple returns to Howarth Field this weekend with a pair of home matches and several promotions planned for fans. Friday's home opener against No. 19 Monmouth will feature a hot dog giveaway, while Temple faculty and staff will also be recognized. Sunday's matchup against Rider will serve as the Owls' Pride Game. Temple will welcome campus organizations and groups that support and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and the values of inclusion and belonging across campus.

MAGRO ON A ROLL
Magro has found the back of the cage in three consecutive games, totaling four goals over that span. She accounted for three of Temple's five goals last weekend, scoring once at Lafayette before recording the first multi-goal performance of her collegiate career against Wagner.
Following the three-goal weekend, Magro was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the sixth conference weekly recognition of her career.
Through four games, the Buenos Aires, Argentina, native ranks 17th nationally and second in the BIG EAST with 1.00 goals per game. She also ranks 30th nationally and fourth in the conference with 2.00 points per game.
LEPORE LEADS THE LEAGUE
Junior goalkeeper Alex Lepore totaled 11 saves over Temple's two contests last weekend, including six at Lafayette and five in the victory over Wagner.
Lepore leads the BIG EAST with 5.00 saves per game, a mark that ranks 23rd nationally. She also ranks fifth in the conference with a .690 save percentage.
HOME SWEET HOME
After playing each of its first four games away from Howarth Field, Temple opens its 2026 home slate on Friday.
The Owls have posted a 33-15 (.688) home record during the Michelle Vittese era, including a 30-9 (.769) mark over the last four seasons. Temple went a perfect 9-0 at Howarth Field in 2024, marking the program's first undefeated home season since 1981.
