Tex Robinson

A varsity football player at Temple for four years, Tex Robinson was named the team's most valuable back in 1952 and 1954. He missed most of the 1953 season because of a broken foot but he led the Owls in scoring and ground-gaining as a sophomore and senior. He twice received Maxwell Club Weekly Awards. He played professional football for seven years in the Canadian Football League. An All-East offensive back with the Hamilton Tigercats in 1956, he ended his career as a linebacker and was named the Sarnia team's outstanding defensive player. He starred for Bridgeton, NJ High School before coming to Temple and won three most valuable player awards there. He made the NJ All-State team twice. He was a teacher and coach at Bridgeton High. He was head football coach at Cumberland Regional High in 1977 and 1978 where he was named Cumberland's athletic director in 1978.
