Chaszar Helps Lead Owls Past Wagner 61-52

Staten Island, N.Y. - Nicole Chaszar scored a career-high 24 points, including six three-pointers, to help lead the Temple women's basketball team past Wagner, 61-52, in Staten Island, N.Y. Chaszar's six three-pointers were one shy of the Temple school record last set by Chantel Adkins against Massachusetts on Jan. 29, 1994.

Making her first career start, junior Ieesha Turnage scored eight points and added five rebounds and four steals. Sophomore Melissa Eagles and junior Natalia Isaac each added eight points. Senior Kim Martin earned all seven of her points from the free throw line, including five in the final minute to help the Owls seal the victory.

Wagner was led by Nia Ryan who scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Seahawks.

The victory improves the Owls' record to 1-2 on the season. Wagner falls to 1-4. Temple will face Villanova in its home opener at The Forum at The Apollo of Temple on Sat., Dec. 4 at 2:00 p.m.
