PHILADELPHIA — Temple women's basketball currently has two former Owls playing professionally overseas.
Anissa Rivera, who graduated from Temple in 2025 and now plays professionally in Portugal, helped lead Q. Lombos to a big 73-59 win over rival Benfica in the Portuguese Liga Feminina de Basquetebol last Sunday. Rivera earned MVP honors after finishing with 13 points, six rebounds, three assists, and four steals in just 21 minutes.
The matchup featured two of the league's top-four teams, and Quinta dos Lombos improved to 20-2 with the win to remain atop the standings. In her first season with the club, Rivera has averaged 9.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.4 steals per game across 29 appearances.
Temple alum Feyonda Fitzgerald ('17) is currently playing professionally in Mexico and continues to make an impact for Panteras de Aguascalientes in the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional Femenil. In a recent 90-73 win over Abejas, Fitzgerald played a key role by scoring 19 points and adding three assists in 24 minutes.
Her performance helped Panteras improve to 14-2 and keep hold of first place in the league standings. Through the early part of the season, Fitzgerald is averaging 15.0 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game.
