Temple Women Shot Down By St. Joseph's

Owls Sports InformationPHILADELPHIA (Feb. 2, 1999 -- The Temple University women's basketball team fell to Big Five foe St. Joseph's, 69-42, Sunday at The Forum at the Apollo of Temple.
St. Joseph's (13-7, 8-2) went on a 16-0 run to start the ball game and kept Temple scoreless until 10:57 mark when Dawn Ingram hit a driving lay up. The Hawks took a 35-10 halftime lead into the locker room.
Temple (7-12, 3-6) fared better in the second half only being outscored by two by St. Joseph's. However, they couldn't fight their way back. The Owls got to within 16 points with 10:15 remaining, but could get know closer as St. Joseph's went on to the 69-42 victory.
St. Joseph's was paced by the hot shooting of Melissa Coursey who scored 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting. Freshman Susan Moran added 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Hawks.
Temple was led by Tania Bailey who scored 12 points. Kim Martin scored 10 and Dawn Ingram added nine points and eight rebounds for the Owls.
Temple next plays on Feb. 2 at La Salle.
