Temple Softball Has A Perfect Weekend With Four Wins

(April 26, 1999) -- This past weekend, Temple won four consecutive games against conference foes La Salle and Fordham. On Saturday, April 24, the Owls won 1-0 and 5-2 against the Explorers and on Sunday, Temple beat Fordham, 1-0 and 3-1. The Owls ended this weekend with a 12-29-1 overall record and a 5-5 conference record.
Junior Christi Ragan had a tremendous weekend with a batting average of .364 going four for 11. She also scored a total of four runs (1 in every game), had one stolen base and two doubles. The Coatesville, Pa. native also had a .462 on base percentage.
Freshman pitcher Nanci Lima had a great weekend with two wins and one save. She also pitched 17 innings with 10 hits given up. The Swanson, Mass. native had no runs and earned runs and had a total 16 strikeouts with two walks.
Freshman, Katie Spencer landed a .364 batting average and was four for 11. She also totaled three scored runs with one triple, two RBIs and an on base percentage of .462 with two walks.
The Owls will host a double header against Rutgers on Wednesday, April 18, 1999 at 3:00p.m. Temple will head out to St. Bonaventure on Friday, April 30 and travel north to Dayton on May 2, 1999 for their last regular season games.
