Women's Soccer Falls 2-0 to Xavier

PHILADELPHIA - The Owls' women's soccer team lost to a hot Xavier team 2-0. The loss drops the Owls' record to 8-7 and 1-3 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The win raises Xavier's record 8-6 and 5-1 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Xavier got out to a quick two-goal lead and held on in the second half to keep the Owls' scoreless.
Xavier first goal was scored unassisted by senior Annette Gruber at 9:42 into the first half. The second goal was scored by senior mid-fielder Erin Coley at 21:21 into the first half.
The Owls' were out shot 6 to 1 in the first half, but held Xavier scoreless in the second half on strong team defense and were out shot 4-3 in the second half.
The Owls will host Dayton Sunday at 1 pm.
