Women's Soccer Explode on Explorers with 3-2 Win

PHILADELPHIA - Women's Soccer snapped a six game losing streak with a 3-2 victory over LaSalle. The win raises Temple's record to 9-8, 2-5 in Atlantic 10 Conference play. All three of Temple's goals were scored in the first half.
The first goal was scored 7:27 into the first half by sophomore Jeannette Hibbs. The Owl's second goal was by senior Julie Marx at 18:18 temporarily; taking over the team scoring lead. Junior Brandi Wright scored Temple's game-winning goal (header) her team leading 9th goal and 19th point of the season regaining the team scoring lead from Julie Marx (18 points).
LaSalle scored one goal in the first half by sophomore Amy Schneider at 26:47 to cut the Owls' lead to 2-1. The Explorers' freshmen Krista Lee scored the only second half goal at the 70:28 mark. The loss drops LaSalle to 11-4 and 4-3 in conference play. The Owls' goalkeeper Courtney Woytowicz made some spectacular second half saves to preserve the Temple victory.
The Owls' will next host Fordham on Sunday at 1p.m.
