Philadelphia, PA -- Senior Kelly Ruch (Pheonixville,

PA/Pheonixville) tallied eight goals and senior goalkeeper Iris

Alvarado (Suffern, NY/Suffern) recorded her third career shutout as

Temple University routed St. Joseph's University in women's Atlantic

10 lacrosse action Saturday afternoon.

The nationally ranked Owls dominated the Hawks from the

start. They took advantage of 28 SJU turnovers as they out shot the

Hawks 34-20. The shut out is the first in SJU's program history.

Sophomore Noelle Cebron (Yorktown, NY/Yorktown) scored three

goals and assisted on another. A trio of freshmen, Patience

Synnestvedt (Bryn Athyn, PA/Academy of the New Church), Jessica Yemm

(Fort Washington, PA/Upper Dublin), and Deanna Radcliffe

(Collegeville, PA/Perkiomen Valley) , each scored two goals a piece

for the Owls. Alvarado had eight saves.

Sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Bradley (Sewell, NJ/Washington

Township) recorded 14 saves for SJU.

SJU falls to 2-2. 0-1 in Atlantic 10 play and Temple improves

to 3-2. 2-0 in Atlantic 10 play.
