Lacrosse Falls To No. 2 Princeton, 13-10

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's lacrosse team fell to No. 2 Princeton,

13-10, April 12, at Geasey Field.

After falling behind 4-0, 10 minutes into the game, the Owls roared back to

tie the game 4-4 on Jessica Yemm's (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) goal

at 10:24. The Tigers' Hilary Maddox tied the game at 5-5, 45 seconds

later. Temple's Kelly Ruch (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) scored twice for

the Owls to put them ahead 7-5. Princeton grabbed the lead for good and took

an 8-7 halftime lead behind goals from Lauren Simone, Julie Shaner and

Whitney Miller.

Ruch and Patience Synnestvedt (Bryn Athyn, Pa./Acad. of the New Church) led

Temple with three goals and and an assist each. Yemm added three goals.

Temple played its second game without second leading scorer Jen Jefferson

(Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) who is resting a stress reaction. Simone, who

scored the game's first two goals, led all players with four goals.

The Owls return to action on Friday when they host Atlantic 10 rival St.

Bonaventure at 7:00 p.m. on Geasey Field.
