OWLS LOSE 1-0 TO RHODE ISLAND

PHILADELPHIA- Temple women's soccer (6-6-1,1-4-1, A-10) lost to Rhode Island 1-0 in conference play Friday afternoon at Temple Stadium.

Temple was out shot by Rhode Island in a defensive battle five to two. Owls freshman goalkeeper Jackie Mauro had four saves for Temple. The Owls defense held Rhode Island scoreless until freshman midfielder Claire Landon scored the game-winning goal in the 74th minute of the game.

Rhode Island goalkeeper Katie Hirsch had two saves for the Rams.

Temple (6-6-1,1-4-1,A-10) will play their final home game of the season (Senior Day) against Massachusetts at Temple Stadium, Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
