PENIC AND ERCEGOVIC NAMED CO- A-10 PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

11.8.01 | Women's Tennis

Philadelphia-- The duo of Danira Penic and Lara Ercegovic were named Atlantic 10 players of the week for the week ending November 4, 2001. This is the second week in a row that Penic recieved the honor.

On October 27-20, the duo participated in the ITA Eastern Regional Championships and advanced to the championship round in doubles play. The Owls were defeated by tennis powerhouse Old Dominion 5-8 in the finals. This is the farthest a Temple doubles team has gone in the tournament.

In singles action, Penic advanced to the final eight and Ercegovic advanced to the final 16.
