ATHENA CHRISTOFORAKIS NAMED BIG FIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Philadelphia - Senior Forward Athena Christoforakis is the Big 5 Player of the Week for the week ending Wednesday, December 5. The Owls began the Big 5 season with a 66-60 victory over Pennsylvania on November 28 at the Liacouras Center. Christoforakis scored a career-high 27 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in Temple's first win of the season. She then scored 14 points and grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds in the Owls' second Big 5 victory over then undefeated Villanova 43-35 on Saturday. Christoforakis scored 12 points in Temple's 68-65 loss against South Carolina Tuesday night. The Port Orange, Fl. native averaged 17.7 points and 13 rebounds in the three games.
