Truta Wins the Flight A Singles Bracket of Cornell Winter Classic

ITHICA, New York (Feb. 7) - Senior Tamara Truta won the Flight A singles bracket of the

Cornell Winter Classic on Sunday, February 4 when she defeated Zuzia Burucka

(Syracuse) 6-0, 6-2, Kim Barfuss (Seton Hall) 6-4, 7-5, and Suzanne Wright

(Cornell) 6-4, 4-6, 6-4.

Freshman Lara Ercegovic and senior Tanja Zecic also had wins in the

tournament. Ercegovic defeated Melissa Nyuyen (Columbia) 6-3, 6-12 and Zecic

beat Meilssa Sentell (Army) 6-3, 7-6.

Other Temple players competing in the tournament were junior Nina Kumar and

senior Katarina Krameric.

The Owls next face Penn on February 7, 2001 at the University of Pennsylvania

at 2:00 p.m.
