Temple Lacrosse Opens Season with Win

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple Lacrosse team (1-0) opened the 2001
season with an 18-7 victory over the University of Connecticut
(1-1) in the first ever meeting between the two schools.
In the first half, UConn had an answer for every Temple goal as the Owls held a 6-5 halftime lead. In the second half, Temple took control of the game as it outscored the Huskies 12-2 in the final thirty minutes.
Temple was led in scoring by sophomore Jessica Yemm with a game-high six goals. Junior Noelle Cebron scored three goals and added five assists, Deanna Radcliffe (3 goals), Patience Synnestvedt (2 goals, 2 assists), Robin Keevan (2 goals), Jen Jefferson (1 goal, 1 assist), Tiffany Pulaski (1 goal) and Liz Frengs (1 assist) rounded out the scoring for the Owls.
Megan Campbell (2 goals) and Susan Payne (2 goals) led Connecticut in scoring.
Next up for the Owls, a road game against Lafayette on Tuesday, March 13 at 3:00 p.m.
