Softball Owls Wrap Up Spring Break Tour

Temple was unable to capitalize on scoring opportunities during the second game of the double header. The Bulls scored in the fifth and sixth innings to beat the Owls 4-0. Ashley Caudil hit a double and Katie Weigle, Katie Spencer, Alexis Pena, and Kendra Navarro each had base hits for the Owls.
Action began for Temple in the Speedline Invitational Tournament on Thursday against Michigan State University. The Spartans scored the only run of the game in the first inning. Lynsey Grace, Chrissy Harris, and Kendra Navarro each had hits in the 1-0 loss. Temple lost its second game of the tournament to Texas Tech on Thursday night. Bari Lynn Pflueger had Temple's only hit in the 2-0 loss. Tech eventually made it to the tournament championship.
The Owls' offense struggled in their 11-0 loss to the University of Utah on Friday afternoon. Katie Weigle and Alexis Gary each had a base hit for Temple.
The Owls bounced back to win their first game of the Speedline Invitational with a 1-0 victory over Georgia Southern on Friday afternoon. Katie Weigle had a base hit and scored on a fielder's choice in the first inning to put the Owls ahead early. Katie Spencer and winning pitcher Bari Lynn Pflueger were both 1-for-2.
Temple ended its action in the Speedline Invitational on Saturday morning against Mississippi State University. The Owls had five hits in the game, but failed to score. Lynsey Grace and Martha Serrato both went 2-for-3 in the 3-0 loss.
