Comeback Bid Falls Short For Temple LaCrosse Against ODU

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's lacrosse team (2-2) lost its second straight game, 10-8 against No. 16 Old Dominion at Geasey Field.
The Monarchs got off to a fast start and held an 8-3 advantage at halftime. Jen Jefferson scored two of the Owls' three goals in the first half and Jessica Yemm scored the other goal. Jennifer Heister led ODU with two goals in the first half and Suzanne Woscyna, the younger sister of Temple's Shelly Woscyna, also scored two goals.
In the second half, Temple mounted a furious comeback as it scored five goals to close the gap. The Owls' Deanna Radcliffe scored two goals and added one assist in the second stanza. She was joined in the scoring column by Liz Frengs (1 goal), Noelle Cebron (1 goal), and Tiffany Pulaski (1 goal). The Monarchs were able to hold off the Owls with goals by Woscyna and Heister in the second half. Temple goalie Sheena Oommen had 13 saves while Laurie Koller had 12 saves for ODU.
The Owls return to action on Saturday, March 24 when they face the La Salle Explorers. Game time is at 3:00 p.m.
