Truta and Ercegovic Named Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Performers of the Week

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (Apr. 3) - Senior Tamara Truta and freshman Lara Ercegovic were
named Atlantic 10 women's tennis performer of the week and women's tennis
rookie of the week respectively.
Both Owls had impressive outings against Duquense and Umass last week. Truta
went undefeated in singles play against Duquense on March 30 by defeating
Alina Klinova 7-5, 6-1. Truta later went on to beat the top women's singles
player for Umass, Francesca Mancini, 6-4, 6-2 on April 1. Both wins were
straight set victories. This is Truta's first Performer of the Week honors for
the season.
Ercegovic had an equally impressive outing, going undefeated in singles action
in both matches. On Friday, March 30, she defeated Duquesne's Leia Zingone
6-1, 7-6. On Sunday, April 1, Ercegovic beat Massachusetts' Jafra DePonte in
straight wins, 6-0, 6-0. This is the first Rookie of the Week honor for
Ercegovic.
