Naughton and Mennig Earn A-10 Conference Weekly Honors

PHILADELPHIA - Temple softball team had two members earn Atlantic 10 weekly honors. Pitcher Liz Naughton was named A-10 Pitcher of the Week and Utility player Katie Mennig was named Rookie of the Week.
Naughton a sophomore earns her first Pitcher of the Week citation. She threw two complete games victories, allowing one earned in fourteen innings for Temple against A-10 opponent Rhode Island (April 21-22). She pitched a one -hit shutout with six strikeouts in a 3-0 Owls win to end a four -game-losing skid. Naughton took the mound the next day and allowed one earned run as the Owls took sole possession of second place with a 2-1 triumph. Naughton (10-5) is fifth in the A-10 with an overall ERA of 1.60. Naughton attended Mid Valley High School and hails from Olyphant, Pa.
Menage, a sophomore went 3 for 5 on the week. She went 1-1 with a RBI against Rhode Island on Saturday (April 21). She followed that performance, the next day going 2-3 with a RBI and scoring a run. Her two RBI's produced the game- winning runs in both thwe Owls wins. She hails from Gilbertville, Pa and attended Boyertown High School.
