Late Second Half Spurt Helps Women's Lacrosse Defeat UMass

PHILADELPHIA (April 8) - The Temple women's Lacrosse team broke open a
tight game (6-6) in the second half to record a 11-7 victory
over Massachusetts on April 8. The win gives the Owls a modest two- game
winning streak and raises Temple's' record to 5-4 overall.
Junior Jen Jefferson led the Owls with 3 goals. Sophomores Deanna Radcliffe (2 goals) and Liz Frengs added two-goals late in the game to seal the victory. The Owls overcame a 3-1 first half deficit to knot the score at 4-4 at the half. The game was tight throughout most of the contest. The teams were locked in a 6-6 tie in the second half when the Owls outscored UMass 5-1 from that point to separate from the Minutewomen. Junior goalkeeper Sheena Oommen (5-4) recorded 7 saves to preserve the win for the Owls.
UMass was led by Senior Rachel Ingraffea (3 goals), the only Minutewomen with more than one-goal.
The Owls (5-4) will next visit Princeton on Wednesday, April 17 at 7 p.m.
