Dawn Staley Named WNBA All-Star

PHILADELPHIA - Temple women's basketball head coach Dawn Staley was named as a reserve for the 2001 WNBA All-Star Game to be played on July 23 in Orlando, Florida. Staley who plays for the Charlotte Sting is making her first appearance as a WNBA all-star in her third year in the league. Staley was a two-time all-star in the now defunct ABL. The 2001 Big 5 women's Co-Coach of the Year is one of only eight players to make the all-star team in both pro leagues. This season Staley is having the best of her three years in the WNBA as she currently ranks second in the league in assists (6.4 apg.) and third in free throw percentage (90.6).
