OWLS DEFEAT RAMS 3-1

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple women's soccer team defeated Virginia Commonwealth 3-1 on Saturday at Temple Stadium. The win raises the Owls' record to 3-1 overall. The Owls have won their last two games outscoring their opponents seven goals to two. Temple has scored all seven goals in the last two games in the second half.

The Rams opened the scoring 1:53 into the game on a goal by sophomore forward Shayla Clark assisted by sophomore forward Genevieve Tremblay.

Owls' senior forward Julie Marx (Newark,DE./Newark) tied the game on a goal at 59:30 assisted by freshman midfielder Melissa Foley (Hamilton, NJ./Nottingham). Temple took a 2-1 lead on a goal by sophomore midfielder Liz Frengs scored at the 79 minutes mark on a goal assisted by freshman forward Thresa Peronace (Philadelphia, Pa/Villa Joseph Marie).

Owls' Junior midfielder Jeanette Hibbs (Philadelphia,Pa./St.Hubert's) sealed the win with a goal at the 84 minute mark the goal was assisted by sophomore forward Johanna Yemm (Ft.Washington,Pa./Upper Dublin)

Temple (3-1) will host Drexel on Tuesday, September 18th at 4p.m at Temple Stadium.
