OWLS BREEZE PAST DRAGONS 4-2,EXTENDING STREAK TO THREE GAMES

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple women's soccer team scored three first half goals defeating Drexel 4-2 on Tuesday afternoon at Temple Stadium. The win raises the Owls' record to 4-1 overall and extends their win streak to three games.

Junior midfielder Jeanette Hibbs (Philadelphia, Pa/ St.Hubert's) and freshman midfielder Theresa Peronace (Philadelphia, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie) led the Owls with two goals apiece. Hibbs opened the scoring with a goal on a penalty kick in the 5th minute and added a second goal in the 22nd minute on another penalty kick providing Temple with a 2-0 advantage.

Peronace scored her first goal in the 44th minute; Hibbs assisted on the goal giving her five points in the first half. Peronace added her second goal in the 87th minute sealing the win for the Owls with a 4-1 lead with three minutes left in the contest.

Drexel's goals were scored by junior midfielder Courtney Elliot in the 63rd minute and sophomore midfielder Sandra Ackerman in the 89th minute
