PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple University women's soccer team (8-6, 3-2 A-10) picked up their third Atlantic 10 victory this afternoon, October 13 when they defeated the Duquesne Dukes, 2-1.

Duquesne scored first when Julie Broden scored her first goal of the season in the 25th minutes of play in period one. Temple answered back thirty seconds later on an unassisted goal by freshman Samantha Vietry who tied the score at 1-1.

Although the Dukes out-shot the Owls 6-4 in the first stanza, Temple came back to grab the 14-4 shot advantage in period two. Sophomore midfielder Christine McInaw scored her first goal of the season in the 64th minute of the game on a shot high over the keepers head. The goal proved to be the game-winner as the Owls downed Duquesne 2-1.

Temple goalie Jackie Mauro played all 90 minutes in goal and posted five saves.

The Cherry and White, under nine-year head coach Seamus McWilliams, come back home next weekend to face Richmond on October 18 and George Washington on October 20. Game times are 3:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.
