PHILADELPHIA--The Temple University women's soccer team (8-8, 3-4 A-10) were shutout by George Washington in a close 1-0 game this afternoon, October 20, 2002 at Temple Stadium. The Owl's Atlantic 10 record fell to 3-4.

Neither team's offense kicked in until the final minutes of the game when the Colonials's Kim Warner lobbed to the ball from the top of the goalie box to find the back of the net in the 84th minute of the game. Although Temple out shot George Washington 15-9, they were unable to score in the final minutes of the game.

Owls goalie Jackie Mauro played all ninety minutes in goal and posted three saves.

The Cherry and White, under nine year Head Coach Seamus Mc Williams, go on the road next weekend for two more Atlantic 10 matchups against Massachusetts (10/25) and Rhode Island (10/27). Game times are 4:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.
