KLECKO NAMED BIG EAST CONFERENCE CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK; FENTON CAPTURES CO-SPECIAL TEAMS HONOR

It marks the second straight week the Owls have had two players cited in the league's weekly honors. On October 14, quarterbacks Mike McGann and Mike Frost were named the Big East's Co-Offensive Player of the Week and Special Teams Player of the Week, respectively, for their performances in Temple's 17-16 win over Syracuse.
Klecko (6-1, 276) tied a Temple record set by Decara Burgess vs. Pittburgh in 1997 by making four quarterback sacks. Klecko had a career-high 12 tackles (seven solo) and a career-high five tackles for losses of 39 yards. The senior had 18 more yards in tackles-for losses than UConn had in total rushing yards (21 total net rushing yards). Klecko also made two quarterback hurries. It marks his the third career Big East Defensive Player of the Week honor.

Fenton (5-10, 200) returned the opening kickoff 94-yards for a touchdown to tie the third longest kickoff return in Temple history. It marked the second time in as many years he returned the opening kickoff 94-yards for a score versus the Huskies. Fenton, a junior, boasts a 32.1-yard kickoff return average. It is his first career Big East Special Teams Player of the Week honor.

Temple (3-4, 1-1 Big East), under the direction of fifth-year head coach Bobby Wallace, returns to action this Saturday in a 1:00 p.m. contest at No. 3 Virginia Tech. The game can be listened to live on WPHT (1210 AM).
