TEMPLE VOLLEYBALL TOPS LA SALLE TO PUSH WIN STREAK TO 10

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple volleyball team (17-5, 8-0) remained unbeaten in Atlantic 10 Conference play with a three games to one win over cross-town rival La Salle (9-16, 0-8) on October 22 at Tom Gola arena. The game scores were 30-25, 30-22, 21-30 and 30-26 for the Owls who won their 10th match in a row overall.

Junior outside hitter Xu Yun, the reigning Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, topped all players with 24 kills, while fellow junior Yamit Haba added 11 in the Owls' win. Yun also was impressive on defensive with a match-high 17 digs. Haba, along with juniors Margaret Majewska and Liu Shu added 13 digs each.

Lauren Woods led La Salle with 17 kills on 37 attempts. Three Explorers got in on the attacking game, with juniors Robyn Wright and Bethany Pruetz along with sophomore Lindsey Viehmann each dropping 11 kills on the Owls. Caitlin Keefe led the Explorers on defense with 12 digs.

Temple returns to action on the road this weekend with matches against Rhode Island on Friday, October 25 at 7:00 p.m. and Fordham on Saturday, October 26 at 4:00 p.m.
