PHILADELPHIA-- The Temple women's soccer team (8-11-0, 3-7-0 A-10) were shutout by the Dayton Flyers 6-0 this afternoon, November 1, 2002 at Temple Stadium. The Owls record dropped to 8-11 overall and 3-7 in conference play.

Temple had seven shots on goal and five corner kicks but were unable to capitalize. In the 87th minute of the game, the Owls were awarded a penalty shot but the ball sailed right into the hands of the Flyers' goalie.

The Flyers, who clinched a spot in the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships last week, went into halftime with a 1-0 advantage over the Owls. Dayton's offense exploded in period two and scored five goals including four unassisted.

Owls goalie Jeanette Hibbs, normally a midfielder but was filling in for injured goalie Jackie Mauro, played all ninety minutes in goal and posted three saves.

The Cherry and White play their final home and season game on Sunday, November 3, 2002 against Xavier at 1:00 p.m. The Owls will honor their seniors before the start of the game.
