TEMPLE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TOPS TEAM CONCEPT IN EXHIBITION FINALE

PHILADELPHIA - Senior Stacey Smalls (17 points) led a balanced effort as the Temple women's basketball team defeated Team Concept 68-64 in an exhibition game on November 12 at McGonigle Hall.

Smalls was 7-13 from the field, 2-2 from the free throw line and had nine assists and zero turnovers in 30 minutes of action. Freshman Candice Dupree (16 points, 10 rebounds), sophomore Cynthia Jordan (11 points) and junior Christena Hamilton (11 points) were the other double figure scorers for the Owls. As a team, Temple outrebounded Team Concept 46-33.

Takeisha Lewis (14 points), LaTonya Washington (11 points), Dominique Canty (11 points) and Tomeka Brown were the double-figure scorers for Team Concept. Team Concept struggled from the free throw line shooting 13-22.

The dress rehearsals are over and Temple tips off the season with a short road trip to Big 5 rival Penn on Friday, November 22. Game time is 8:00 p.m.
