TEMPLE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL SINKS PIRATES TO IMPROVE TO 3-0

Freshman center Candice Dupree led the Owls in scoring with a career-high 18 points on 8-for-12 shooting. Sophomore forward Ari Moore added a career-high 14 points and tied her career high in rebounds with nine. First year sophomore Khadija Bowens rounded out the double digit scoring effort for Temple with 13 points and seven rebounds. Junior Tynecia Pam, who scored five points grabbed a season high 10 rebounds.
Chester, Pa. native Charlene Thomas led the Pirates in scoring with 18 points and ten rebounds. Ashley Bush added 13 points and eight rebounds for Seton Hall while freshman guard Monica Johnson chipped in 12 points.
Temple shot 35.5 percent in the first half entering halftime with a 25-21 advantage. The Owls led for most of the second half building an 18- point cushion with less than 10 minutes remaining. Temple scored 17 points off 24 Pirate turnovers and edged Seton Hall in shooting percentage (40.4 percent to 39.1 percent). In a game where 46 personal fouls were whistled, neither team took much advantage as the Owls shot 55.6 percent from the charity stripe while the Pirates shot just under 59 percent.
The Owls take the road during the Thanksgiving Holiday playing at the Stanford Tournament in Palo Alto, Calif. Temple tips off against No. 2 Kansas State, Friday, November 29 at 9:00 p.m. immediately followed by host No. 7 Stanford taking on Princeton. The winners will square off against each other on Saturday, November 30.
