GORE, VIETRYS RECEIVE WOMEN'S SOCCER ATLANTIC 10 CONFERENCE HONORS

PHILADELPHIA -- Senior defender Brenda Gore and freshman identical twins Samantha and Stephanie Vietry of the Temple University women's soccer team (8-12, 3-8 A-10) were named to the Atlantic 10 Second Team All-Conference and All-Rookie Team, it was announced today, November 7, 2002 by the Atlantic 10.

Gore, a defender from Southampton, Pa was named to the A-10 Second Team All-Conference. In 2002, she served as a team captain, led the Owls tenacious defense, started all 20 games, took 28 shots and had one assist for one point. As a senior, graduating with a degree in physical therapy, Gore played a career 74 games and racked up 21 points for seven goals and eight assists.

Freshman identical twins Samantha and Stephanie Vietry were named to the Atlantic 10 All Rookie team. The Cranston Rhode Island natives were major source of offense for the Owls this year. Together they scored 12 of Temple's 28 goals this season with Samantha netting seven and Stephanie with five.

The Cherry and White, under the direction of nine-year Head Coach Seamus McWilliams finished the season with an overall record of 8-12 and 3-8 in Atlantic 10 conference play.
