TEMPLE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TO COLLECT FOOD AND TOYS AT NEXT HOME GAME

12.2.02 | General

The Temple Women's Basketball program has jumped headlong into the holiday season. In addition to the food drive to benefit the Greater Philadelphia Food Bank taking place at all Temple Basketball games during the month of December, the Temple Women's team is also holding a toy drive to benefit the WES Health Center's annual "Toys for Tots" program.

The collections will take place at the Owls next home game -- Tuesday, December 10th vs. Rutgers at The Liacouras Center. Gametime is 7:00 PM. Anyone donating a canned good OR a new, unwrapped toy at the ticket window will be admitted to the game for FREE. Head Coach Dawn Staley and the Temple Women (4-1) will be trying to beat the Scarlet Knights -- a perennial national contender -- for the second year in a row. Last season, the Owls shocked Rutgers, 56-51.

The food drive will continue at the Women's Basketball game vs. South Carolina on December 27th and will conclude at the Men's Basketball game vs. Indiana on December 28th.
