BOWENS GARNERS ATLANTIC 10 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK HONORS

PHILADELPHIA -- Khadija Bowens, a sophomore guard on Temple's Women's Basketball team, was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for the week ending December 1, 2002.

Bowens helped Temple to a 3-1 record this past week when they beat Santa Clara, Seton Hall and Princeton and suffered a tough loss to No. 2 Kansas State. Overall, she scored 41 points, 23 assists, 17 steals, 13 rebounds and went 18-34 (.529) from the field.

In A-10 play. Bowens is second in steals per game with 4.20 and fourth in assists per game with 5.00. She has started all five games for the Owls and is 26-53 (.491) from the field.
